What happens if we can't get married on our contracted date?

If do to unforeseen circumstances you can’t get married on the contracted date you have up to 6 months to reschedule and all retainers can be applied to that new date. The only caveat is you need to check with us that we are available before rescheduling.

What is the payment plan?

Payment plan is industry standard. 50% down to hold the date and 50% one month prior to the event.

Why do I have to pay in full before the event?

Reason we do full payment prior to the event is that if you cancel then it is a loss of income to us. Believe it or not, weddings are cancelled on occasion =(

What if I cancel my event? Do I get a refund?

Down payment is non-refundable. But if your event is re-scheduled  you can apply retainer to new date as long as it is scheduled within 6 month period.

Under what circumstances do I have to pay sales tax?

Sales tax is only paid if there is an exchange of a physical product. For this reason all our photo and video packages have digital delivery to avoid sales tax. We do offer albums and blu-rays etc, but we recommend that couples wait until after their wedding to decide on whether they want to purchase these items.

Are there travel costs involved?

Within a 35mi radius from San Francisco we do not charge mileage. Outside of 35mi radius we charge $0.90/mi.

What happens if my assigned shooter cannot shoot on the day of my event?

This rarely happens, but one of the benefits of working with a larger studio is that we have more resources and we will be able to cover if someone falls ill or can’t make it. On occasion you may even get one of the Owners to come out and shoot your wedding!

Your photographer will be assigned approximately 30 days before your wedding. If you have an engagement shoot booked with us, your photographer will likely be the same for both the engagement and wedding.

In most cases you will receive your proofs within 4-6 weeks following your engagement shoot and within 12 weeks  (depending on season volume) following your wedding depending on the season.

So there is a consistency across all shooters and for that reason it makes no difference who is assigned as the product will be the same. Yes every shooter has a slightly different personality, but all of our shooters are easy to work with and kind and considerate.

How does the post production editing process work for Video? Do i have the opportunity to give feedback?

The best thing is for you to provide input prior to us starting the editing and the best way to do this is via our online detailed questionnaire. Through the questionnaire you can provide song selections and also tell us about any important moments throughout your day. In addition, after your wedding day if you feel something happened that you want included and want to bring to our attention please feel free to email us and or update your online questionnaire. If after your video has been delivered you feel like there is a shot that you want replaced or a special moment missing feel free to give us specific comments and we can make the complimentary change for you.

What kind of camera equipment do you use for video?

For video we  use Canon 5D Mark 3 DSLR cameras for our shoots with L Series Canon Lenses.  In addition, we use high quality audio equipment to capture sound.

If I have One videographer how many cameras will they bring?

One shooter productions we will have a minimum of two cameras with him during ceremony and reception program. It should be noted that in many instances one of the cameras will be unmanned but still recording.

What is the benefit of having two videographers versus one videographer?

There are many benefits aside from the obvious one that if there are two people you will inevitably capture more special moments. Other benefits include; complete coverage of BOTH bride and groom getting ready if they are getting ready at different locations, complimentary closeup shots during the ceremony vows including a groom reaction shot when bride comes down aisle, freedom to get couple shots and cover cocktail hour simultaneously.

How do you record high quality audio on our wedding day?

For the ceremony we typically place a lavalier microphone on the groom for recording purposes only (will not amplify). This mic will capture the vows for both the bride and the groom. A second lavalier microphone is placed on the officiant of the ceremony to record the sermon. In addition, if there is a sound system utilized for the ceremony and reception and we are granted access from the third party we will tap into the sound board via an external recorder to record high quality audio for the ceremony and reception program. All cameras record ambient audio as a fail safe.

What does the documentary video include?

It can vary depending on our start and finish time, but typically it has a getting ready montage, your full ceremony and your full reception program in the video including speeches, cake cutting, first dances and freestyle dancing montage. For this reason the length varies as everyone’s ceremony and reception program is different. On average for non-church weddings the average length is about 60-90min. For church based weddings the average length is about 120min.

What is the highlights video?

Highlights video ranges from 3-5min and is a highlights of the day. It will include the most important moments cut together in an artistic way. You also have the option of a longer extended highlights 6-9min or a 10-15min version for an additional cost.

What is your policy on music licensing?

There has been a huge crackdown online with music licensing, so if you want your Highlights video public you need to use licensed music otherwise it is illegal no matter what anyone tells you. However, if you really want to use top 40 songs in your highlights video we can password protect it and still use a top 40 song, but we still recommend against this. Since the documentary video is typically private and you can usually select some top 40 songs for that.

What do you recommend for music?

We recommend licensing a song for the highlights video from the Music Bed and/or Song Freedom. For the documentary video we recommend choosing your favorite top 40 songs. This provides a nice complimentary effect and satisfies most people. Cost to license songs from the Music Bed or Song Freedom are paid for by us.

What if i really don’t like any licensed music?

We recommend at least giving it a try as there is a vast amount of really great music, but if you don’t seem to like anything the only option is to use the songs you like and keep the videos private.

Will licensed music make my highlights better or worse?

We feel that licensed music actually makes your highlights much much more powerful than top 40 or mainstream favorites! The reason for this is that when you are watching the video, if you use a top 40 song, you will be listening to the song more than you are watching the video. It gets in the way of feeling and watching the video.

When do i get my video?

Contract will say 26 weeks after event date, but typically we are able to turn around videos in the 3-4 month time frame.( It should be noted that we are not held accountable before the 6 month deadline.) Believe it or not but the industry average is about 1 year to turn around videos and some companies are even 1.5 years.

What are the most popular packages for video?

Ultimate Video package is the most popular; two videographers for eight (8)hrs with highlights video (3-5min) and documentary video (45-120min).
